Heavy-leg syndrome describes a sensation of heaviness in the lower limbs — common, especially in women. Often temporary, it can become chronic if circulation is poor. Pregnancy, excess weight, or prolonged standing/sitting aggravate it, leading to fluid and lymph stagnation, poor oxygenation, metabolic waste buildup, and leg fatigue, swelling, and discomfort (worse in heat).
Relief measures include a healthy diet, proper hydration, regular movement, and weight management. Periodic phytotherapy, particularly gemmotherapy, can further support venous and lymphatic flow for leg comfort and vascular health.
