Why is it important to take Vitamin C?
Vitamin C is a fundamental co-factor for the physiological functioning of our body. Also known as L-ascorbic acid or ascorbate, it is a water-soluble antioxidant vitamin, essential for the vital activities of all cells in the body with a broad spectrum of action: it helps protect us from the damage caused by pollution, many toxic substances, and free radicals. Vitamin C participates in cellular respiration processes and, importantly, promotes the absorption of minerals such as iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium. It prevents the accumulation of histamine by exerting an anti-allergic action and modulates prostaglandins and therefore the inflammatory response. It prevents cellular degeneration.
